Samsung Reportedly Planning Galaxy Memo, a Shrunken Galaxy Note 3

The details about the Samsung Galaxy Memo aren’t official yet, but the pictures below that were revealed by the guys Sammobile look like the real deal. Synchronized with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date, the South Korea-based company may surprise us this fall and introduce to us the Galaxy Memo model.
Personally, I’m not the biggest fans of the smartphones that get close to the size of the tablets, but the Samsung Galaxy Memo might be a great alternative for those who want a stylus but not a gigantic display.

Sammobile writes that the Samsung Galaxy Memo will come with a 4.5-inch full HD display with TFT LCD technology, while running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. Of course we are expecting the TouchWiz Nature UX interface on top of it with most of the Galaxy S4 goodies, but my guess is that the Galaxy Memo will also borrow some of Samsung Galaxy Note 3′s S Pen-specific features.
It seems that the smartphone will be powered by a 1.4 GHz CPU in quad-core configuration, it will sport 2 GB of RAM, while the rear-facing camera will have an 8 megapixel sensor.

The display resolution of the Samsung Galaxy Memo might actually be a problem for the South Korean company, as it doesn’t fit with the smartphone’s sides ratio. The first Samsung Galaxy Note had an aspect ration of 16:10, so the Galaxy Memo must have a resolution of 1,200 x 1,920 pixels.

Some of the Sammobile readers have noticed that the image on Galaxy Memo’s display presents an interface in two languages, English and Korean, therefore the pictures we are looking at might be the result of a Galaxy Note fanboy’s PotoShop session. Like usual, we are advising you to take the report with a grain of salt.

The case of the alleged Samsung smartphone seems like a perfect copy of the Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone of the South Korean phone maker.

In terms of technical specifications, it s hard to believe that Samsung will not use an AMOLED display for the Galaxy Memo, especially that it will be a handset people will purchase because they can draw on it with a stylus.

Until more reports about the Samsung Galaxy Memo are making the headlines, I will be circumspect regarding the details above.

Do you believe that the Samsung Galaxy Memo is real? Or is it just a HOAX of a fanboy? Does the smartphone market need a terminal like the one in the gallery blow? How about its technical specifications? Would you buy it yourself? We are inviting you to answer all these questions in the comments section below and share your thoughts with us and other Android enthusiasts.
