The Finnish mobile firm Nokia has revealed its upcoming media event on September 19, 2013. On its official Facebook page, the company has just noted that it would take place a media event on that date, firing up the rumors that the next major Windows Phone 8 smartphone from Nokia would be on display at the event. Will it be the first and much-awaited 1080p quad core powered Windows Phone 8?
Nokia hasn’t revealed any more info about the media event including the location, venue and time. Yet, eagle-eyed rumor mills at Nokiapoweruser have churned out the guess that it would be taking place at 12.00 noon. The pic Nokia shared with its Facebook update shows a calendar app on a Windows Phone 8 handset with Sep. 19 as date and 12.00 noon as time.
So it can be a good guess, but there is nothing about its venue other than the point that the nearby location is Stockholm, which is certainly not a stable guess to state that the event would occur in Stockholm, but it can be, though. But, before that Nokia has another press meet officially set for July 11, 2013 in New York, possibly for unveiling its Windows Phone 8-based camera phone the Nokia EOS.
The EOS has been in rumors only for the New York press event when it was first announced. But, later Nokia gave a slight clue for the projected EOS’ release at the event. In its press invite, the company has just put down that there would be “41 million” reasons to expect for the device. With the EOS has been largely awaited to come with a 41MP rear camera (PureView technology) it is a great guess to look forward for the device.
So the question remains what Nokia would have up in its sleeve for release at the Sep. 19 event. It will likely be a Windows Phone 8 device with 1080p display and quad core CPU processor, and so it will be running the rumored next update of the software, Windows Phone 8 Blue, because the current version doesn’t extend support to quad core CPU as well as a 1080p display.
“It’s known that Microsoft’s next big Windows Phone update will include support for quad-core processors and 1080p Full HD display resolutions,” says Know Your Mobile. We can read this news along with the update that Nokia has long been working with some devices mounting Qualcomm’s high-end quad-core Snapdragon chipsets in Windows Phone 8 devices. So, if the new Windows Phone update is capable to support quad core and FullHD display, the first device with the attributes can only be expected from Nokia, the official partner of Microsoft.
But, there is also a guess that Nokia is working on a phablet and midsize tablet with Windows 8. Microsoft’s operating systems for tablets Windows 8 and Windows RT have already received lots of large screen machines including the company’s own Surface tablets. But still the OS is lacking a midsize tablet, and it could well be anticipated from a firm like Nokia, which has signed deal with the Redmond software giant for making exclusive Windows machines.
A Nokia phablet with Windows Phone 8 against Samsung Galaxy Note line is also a superb guesswork. It can also be there, because rumor mills have been long predicting the scope for a phablet with the Windows Phone. It can be a stiff rival to the thriving Android phablets today. In fact, it is a bit confusing that what Nokia would bring to the public as the September 19 media event. It is still three months away from now.
