Important Things:
- This tutorial is only for HTC One X, don’t try it on other devices.
- Make back up of your phone data.
- This is a custom third-party ROM.
- Bootloader should be unlocked. How? –> How to Unlock Bootloader of HTC Phones.
- Install ClockworkMod Recovery on your device.
HOW TO Install CM10.1 RC2 Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on HTC One X.
- Download CM10.1 RC2 Android 4.2.2 ROM for HTC One X to your computer andextract boot.img from the zip file separately. Download Google Apps as well.
- Connect HTC One X with your computer and select mass storage mod.
- Now the Android 4.2.2 ROM that you have downloaded in first copy it to your root of the SD card.
- Copy/paste the boot.img file to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory, and turn off your mobile.
- Now go into the bootloader/Fastboot mode Turn ON the phone while pressing and holding the Volume Down + Power buttons.
- Now you are in Fastboot mode navigate to android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools directory on your computer and open command prompt.
Type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then, type the following command and press Enter.
fastboot reboot
- Follow the instruction carefully.
- Now select the bootloader and go into Recovery.
- When you are in ClockWorkMod Recovery first perform full wipe data.
- After that in next step perform “wipe cache partition”.
- After performing above process got back to main menu and select “ install zip from SD card “
- Now choose zip from SD card, use volume key to select “ Android 4.2.2 ROM zip” select it bypressing power button.
- Installation process will begun and it will take 5 mins, after the process is completed go back to the main menu and select reboot system now.
